The following provides information on the minimum officials required to run your meet, as well as providing valuable training links for those wishing to become an official for your club.

Upon approval to run your meet, the Swimming Gold Coast region will appoint a qualified Referee to your meet. In addition, a number of other officials will also attend – Starter, Judges of Strokes, and Inspectors of Turns.
In addition to region appointed officials, your club is required to fill the following officiating positions:
Any volunteer within your club can become competent in the above positions, or continue and train to be an official and assist you in running your club meets. A good opportunity to build your volunteer’s skills is during club night swimming. For a general overview on how to learn to become an official click here.
Please contact the Region’s Chief Referee should you wish to discuss official roles and entering the officials training program
* The region will invoice your club a donation for technical officials at $1.50 per swimmer registered on your meet. If the meet is run over 2 days/nights, then an additional fee of $150.00 will be payable for the chief referee.
**The Region can appoint a Meet Manager Operator (operates the meet manager and timing computer applications) for you; however, an additional fee of $500.00 per day will apply. (refer to fees and changes section in the form to the RHS)
***The Region can appoint a Control Room Supervisor (oversees the running of the control room, including reviewing meet manager and timing equipment) for you; however, an additional fee of $150.00 will apply. (refer to fees and changes section in the form to the RHS)
