Meet Details:

2020 SGC Welcome Back to Swimming Invitational
Saturday 5th September and Sunday 6th September

Location: Gold Coast Olympic Pool, Southport


Meet Time Line:

Saturday (Session 1) – 7.30am Warm-up for 8.30am start
Sunday (Session 2) – 7.30am warm-up for 8.30am start


Volunteers will be contacted prior to the meet and an appropriate role discussed.

Volunteers should arrive at the pool and report to the Meet Director (Kim Cook) in front of the timing control room 30 minutes prior to the start of the particular session.

Volunteers are required to fulfill the role for the entire duration of each session (COVID meet requirements stop us from being able to swap people in roles during a session)

Further Information:

The following provides you with a list of all roles required, along with information relating to conditional requirements to act as a volunteer on the day.

1.Timekeeper x 8 (you need to have completed the training modules as set out online general principles and timekeeping module to be completed and handed to the meet director prior to commencement of your session.


2. Lane Chief x 8 (need to have completed general principles and timekeeping module as per above)


3. Chief Timekeeper x 1 (need to have completed general principles and timekeeping module as per above)


4. Team Manager (restricted to a maximum of 3 team officials and subject to confirmation by each club - 10 competitors 1 team manager; 20 competitors 2 team managers 21 and over competitors 3 team managers. Each Team Manager is required to have updated CPR certificate and general principles training module completed (as per above)


5. Photographer x 1 (need to have updated CPR certificate and general principles training module completed as per above)


6. Checkin/check out volunteer to monitor athletes and volunteers entering and leaving the event


7. Announcer x 1 (need to have updated CPR certificate and general principles completed as per above)


8. Self Marshall Screen Operator x 1 (need to have general principles completed as per above)


9. Technical Official (qualified or willing to sit further online training)


All volunteers need to complete a COVID safety certificate and provide to the region before attending as a volunteer. Click here
